Hello again internet people.
I’ve created a Reaper template to quickly get started composing orchestral scores, and the best of all its that its based in free software! Its super handy to quickly test ideas and why not write whole pieces with it.
Here is a quick video of what you will find:
Well to be honest there are only 3 software you’ll need aside from reaper:
- The wonderful Sonatina Symphonic Orchestra from Mattias Westlund
- Ivy Piano in 162 by Simon Dalzell
- Plogue’s Sforzando
Once you already have Sforzando working, load it up on a new project and edit the “User File Path: ” setting no a folder of your choice.
That folder is where you need to put all the instruments of the template.
After you put all intrument files inside that folder, load up the template and you are ready to go!
TIP: You should be able to see Sonatina Symphonic Orchestra entry in sforzando under Instrument/User
- I didn’t added panning because I like to mix differently every time and I like to start from all centred.
- I just found out there might be a better alternative to SSO so maybe its time to upgrade? If anyone is up to the challenge please share
These first 5 tracks were created with this template:
